METAL GEAR LOAD / SAVE DISK VERSION FOR LPE - FLASH G
------------------------------------------------------

1.- DESCRIPTION

The next ROM file is the RC-750 game, english version, by
Konami, Metal Gear.

The game has been patched for avoiding the load / save from
cassette, doing it using disk.

It has not been possible to keep the original size of the game,
which is1 MegaROM (128KB), having to make it bigger (160KB) for
introducing the new routines. This small drawback is not a
problem at all, because the 99% of LPE-FLASH G carts have
512 KB of Flash memory.

For loading correctly the game it is necessary to use
FL2.COM adding the /s parameter. (It HAS TO BE DONE)

Then, it should be something like :

FL2 METALDSK.ROM /s

It is possible to add any other parameters for the loading
included in FL2.COM (from its version 2.2 or higher).

The game stores de saving in a file named METALSAV.DSK.
This is the only one file to save. When the program stores
the saved game it erases the previous file and creates
a new one. The file size is 769 bytes.

The program is DOS1 and DOS2 compatible. The load / save
can be made on HD.

The possibility of loading the game using 60Hz has been added too
for the MSX2 PAL users.

If when booting <H> key is pressed the vertical refresh will be
the NTSC one (60Hz).

The game booting has been modified too. It had to be made for
the initial searching of the DISKROM.

2.- TROUBLESHOOTING

Some problems have been detected in the game modifying.
These game modifications for the disk support are the
problem themselves. The original program was not created
for supporting disk.

[] TurboR users : Some hangs have been found when
a bad dude detects snake and then actives the alarm.
This problem only appears in DOS1. Then the TurboR users
must use DOS2 for loading the game.

[] The program doesn't detect errors when LOAD / SAVE.
If the program tries to load a saved game and the file is NOT
there, probably it will produce a hang in the game.
It is necessary to be sure that the loading file (METALSAV.DSK)
is in the disk and with his complete size.
If the program tries to save and detects any error when storing it
(protected disk, damaged disk), it will produce a hang.

The author DOESN'T TAKE any responsability if this file produces
damages in your computer.
